Benefits of becoming part of the PMD Team

· PMD offers backup for both postpartum and labor doulas.

· PMD allows you to run your own business simultaneously while being a part of our team. You can still build your own business while working for Precious Moments clients.

· PMD President ,Debbie Fazio, who is a Certified Postpartum Doula, a Certified Happiest Baby Instructor and Certified Infant Specialist and a Certified Infant and Toddler Sign Language Instructor will always be available as a mentor to help you offer exceptional support to your clients.

· PMD will take care of invoicing clients and collecting payment so you don’t have to worry about managing business and providing support to your clients, which sometimes can be awkward. Please keep in mind this is only for clients booked through Precious Moments as your own clients remain your own clients and are part of your own business.

· PMD is an established business, with many clients and referrals. We have clients looking for support weekly therefore we can help fill the gaps in your availability very quickly.

· Through our PMD Mentorship program we can assist you in obtaining more experience and guide you in your certification process.

· PMD is a practice that has been proven to work well for both client and doula. You will be joining a team that has a proven track record and continues to grow in our community.

Labour & Birth Doula Requirements

· Trained by CAPPA, DONA, Childbirth International or Birthing From Within (or be willing to take birth doula training at her own expense) and work towards her certification.

· Knowledgeable in pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, postpartum and infant care

· Experienced as a birth doula in a variety of birth settings and with families from diverse backgrounds

· Reliable & responsible

· Comfortable working within PMD’s Values Statement (You may view our Values Statement.)

The successful candidate will have:

· A Criminal Record Check

· Current Infant & Child CPR (or willing to obtain ASAP)

· Access to reliable transportation and a cell phone

· Access to a computer and email account

· Additional training in breastfeeding is an asset

Postpartum Doula Requirements

· Knowledgeable about maternal postpartum adjustments and infant care and development.

· Experience as a postpartum doula would be an asset (working with multiples would be an asset)

· Experience working with newborns and infants nessesary (working with multiples would be an asset)
